Catalonia RL Championship, a new domestic league in Europe

Next Saturday, April 18th will start the new Catalonia’s RL Championship under the organization of the Catalan RL Association and with the support of the Catalan Government and the RLEF.

Nine teams from eight different cities will participate in the league until the end of May.

The teams being:

Club Natació Poble Nou, ‘Enginyers’
Club Rugby Sant Cugat
Club Atlètic Vic, ‘Crancs’
Garrotxa Rugby Club, ‘Teixons’
Club Rugby Tarragona
Club Rugby Valls
GEiEG Rugby Girona
Barcelona Universitari Club, BUC
CE INEF Lleida Rugby

Teams will be divided into two groups, of 4 and 5. Both second teams of each group will play for the 3rd and 4th place, while the first ones will play the final match.

On the whole, more than 200 players will join this new league for the first time. A group of eleven match officials, will take charge of the games.
