BUC certified its leading position besides the fact of playing on its own field. La Foixarda field, with a fairly good public attendance, hosted the same final match to the Catalan Rugby League Championship. Barcelona’s team fast playing was the key point for a clear victory, 44-18.
Sant Cugat, coached by Diego Fucks did not give up and right at the beginning of the second half was only 8 below. But it took just a few tackles for BUC to stop Sant Cugat at mid field line and leave them exhausted.
After the game, Sergi Calzada from BUC, defined it “as the best game we’ve played during the championship”, and congratulated Sant Cugat “because they never gave up”.
On the other side, Diego Fucks considers BUC to deserve the new title and resumes that “on our side, we lacked concentration when we had them close”.
The aftermatch, joined by Lleida and Barça teams, was the final celebration to 2010 Catalonia’s RL Championship.
