Barcelona Universitari Club (BUC) has won the Fisrt Catalonia’s Championship of the Rugby’s League (or Rugby XIII) beating Sant Cugat 26 to 38 at the final. Previously, the match to decide the third and fourth position has also been played, which INEF Lleida has won 56 to 23 against GEIEG Girona. But this party of the Catalan Rugby celebrated in the Estadi Municipal d’Atletisme in Cornellà has also counted on the other five teams of the comptetition, all of whom have recieved a trophy at the end of day.

Sergi Blázquez, president of the Catalan Association of the Rugby’s League, was the one chosen to give the teams the trophy for their fair game and enthusiasm during the season of a sport which is really diferent from the one played until this moment, rugby XV or rugby union. The nine teams really appreciate the experience, faster and more dynamic than the rugby known in Catalonia until now.
