Catalonia 18 - French universitary 64 (Catalan National Teams day)
7/06/2008June7th, framed by the Seleccions Catalanes Day 2008 that received in the city of Girona, the Catalan team played an international match against a rival of first level: French universitary. The french, that they are trainning for the universitary world cup, presented a recital play, in a phisical and technical level, showing why in their country is one of the best of the world in this sport.
The final result of 18 to 64 in favor of the french, reflected the evolution that the catalan players, managed by Èric Delherbe greatly, are making in the last time. In the usual season of the catalan team were added two players of “l’Alguer” and two of the North of Catalonia. The team was managed by the President of “l'Associació Catalana de Rugbi Lliga”, Mr. Sergi Blàzquez, and by the General Director of International Promotion for Catalan Organizations, Mr. Ignasi Doñate, showing the support that the Generalitat make to the ACRL project.

Next match of Catalonia will be on Saturday June 21th against the Moroccan team. From the Associació Catalana de Rugbi Lliga we are thinking in put a bus from Barcelona and it will come by Girona to see the Catalonia match and watching after the Dragons Catalans – Warrington Wolves.
